Yes, Even You Are Worthy of Motivation

 

Part of the reason people lack motivation is because they hold the idea that they do not deserve to be motivated. Everyone deserves to be motivated. Motivation is what changes lives for the better. No one deserves to be stuck in a rut, to feel pain, guilt, confusion or a plethora of other negative feelings. Instead you need to adopt good motivational habits and the phrase ‘I deserve to be motivated.’ should become a daily mantra. You need to stop thinking about the things that make you unhappy, and adopt motivational behaviour instead.

 

Do Not Quietly Endure the Negative

 

A lot of times people choose to suffer in silence. They may even offer a smile and friendly attitude outwardly, while inside they are in agony. It is time to make the inside and outside match. You can make your life better, starting now. The bottom line is that your happiness counts, no matter what. In order to fuel your life in a positive manner and find happiness you need to become motivated. Above all else, hold happiness as a standard in your life that you can measure any decision against. If your happiness in undermined, you are making a poor decision. A basic necessity of live is happiness. Of course all of this goes to reason that you are attempting to live a healthy lifestyle.

 

You Deserve to Be Happy

 

It is important that you find happiness in life. No other motivator is going to make you feel better about yourself and your life choices. If you are unhappy with your current job, then do not make choices that are going to bind you to it like taking out a mortgage, or accepting an employment position that is going to cause you to spend more time away from your family. Do not settle for less than what is going to make you happy. There are many ways to justify doing things in life that break down your motivation and bog you down with negativity. Once you expect to be happy, you are one step closer to learning how to become motivated to find it.

 

Prepare for Amazing Things

 

When you start to look for the positivity in everyday things, you begin to see there are opportunities where you can be happy while having a family, your dream job, and living the life you only dreamed of. The key is realizing that you deserve it. Open your mind and prepare to be motivated to find amazing things in your life.

What Will Your Life Be Like in 1 Year – Personal Goal Setting

 

Part of personal goal setting is envisioning where you want to be at certain stages of your life. The one year mark might not seem significant, but in the business world it marks a milestone of one more year added to your experience. Learning to have a good idea of what your life will be like in one year will keep you target oriented in order to meet your goals and succeed.

  • Start at 10: Start by working out your 10-year plan. Consider what you want to be doing in each detail of your life. Where you want to live. What kind of car you want to drive. Where you see a current relationship or if you will be in a relationship at all. Do you have kids? Would you need to go back to school?

 

  • Work back to One: Once you have your 10-year plan work backward from 10 years to 1 year. Fill in the blanks of what steps you figure you will need to take in order to meet your 10-year plan during each separate year. Figure out where you want to end up from the present moment to the next 12 months and you have a starting point.

 

  • Experience and Education: Considering where you want to be at the end of the year do you need to do anything in your current life such as take more courses, change your position of get more experience? Map out what needs to be done now in order to reach your one-year goal.

 

  • Not Moving: In order to envision your life a year from now consider what would happen if you did absolutely nothing to change. What would it be like to have to stay in the same job for another year? If the idea is completely unbearable, start taking steps to make a move.

 

  • Risks and Rewards: If it turns out you want to make a move, or even if you want to stay put, consider the risks and rewards involved with each. For example if you were to stay in your current position would it provide you with much needed experience to meet your two or five year plan, or would it interfere with your plan instead? If you decide to go, would you be walking away from potential promotions based on your current position within the company?

If each year you stop and consider what your life will be like in one year you will be able to consider what has to be done in order to succeed and meet your long-term goals. Stay motivated throughout your personal goal setting by thinking of the consequences of not meeting your 1-year goals.

How to Choose the Right Motivational Keynote Speaker

Choosing the right motivational keynote speaker for your event is critical to a successful event! Your event took a lot of time and effort to put together and deserves a quality keynote speaker! Follow these steps to help you pick an all-star speaker!

 

  • Start your search by researching speakers through the Internet. Google speakers and include the specific category that you are in need of. Example: If you are looking for a keynote speaker on leadership for an annual business summit try using the search term, Leadership Keynote Speaker.
  • Now don’t limit yourself to the first page of results. Search through the first few pages of Google or Bing and click on the websites of individual speakers that show up for that search term (not data aggregating websites). Copy and paste these websites into a word document.
  • Now that you have built a list of about 6 speakers with their websites, its time to dig into the website content to find out what speakers will be the best fit for your event.
  • If you have a budget you need to stay within, assume that a speaker will consider speaking at your event for $3,000 (your budget) even if a speakers fee is $5,000. Many speakers will negotiate their fee at least by 10% and the worst that can happen is a simple no.
  • Look for the about page for that speaker and find out his/her credentials, do they have any credentials that would give them authority on the topic(s) to be presented at your event.
  • Look for the speakers that provide clear programs on your desired topic. Also, make sure that they provide the option to customize your program through pre-program meetings/phone calls.
  • Look for speakers that have videos, this will give you the best idea as to whether or not the speakers personality and overall stage presence will be a good match for your event and audience.
  • If you can find a motivational keynote speaker near your events location with the right program, stage presence, price and credentials. This might give you a little more room in your budget due to lower travel costs.
  • Once you have found your speaker it is time to make the connection. Always have a back up speaker in mind in case your chosen speaker is already booked or cannot make it for some other reason.
  • Finally, follow your instincts! You are the judge and you have the decision-making authority. If something doesn’t seem right, move on!

Most of us are familiar with the children’s story “The Little Engine that Could”. The important thing to remember is that he was not the little engine that could have. One of the first steps to becoming positive and feeling things are possible for you is to let go of the would have, could have, should have attitude and begin focusing on the possibilities life has in store for you. Believing you can do what it is you set out to do is the little engine that not only could, but that does. This is the first step that will help you to reinvent yourself with positive thinking.

Mindfulness and Being Present

Being present allows you to be more focused. People who are worried about what has happened or what could happen are people who cannot realistically look at what is happening now. This takes away from your ability to do well. Each moment you should be completely engaged in what is happening so your full attention is always in the present.

Positive Thinking

Being positive is the most difficult thing you will ever try to master. True positivity means casting all doubt aside and sincerely believing with every fibre of your being that the universe is on your side and wants you to succeed. Wow! That really is a tall order and is probably the reason that there are only a very small percentage of people in the world who are true saints, billionaires and gurus. Mastering positivity takes some people years. Everyday, look at everything that happens to you with a positive twist and shake off the bad. With any luck eventually it will become second nature to you.

Clear your Mind

Positivity and possibility means having a clear mind. You cannot be worried or stressed. Instead you have to be completely free of worry. Being engaged in what you do and focused on your goals is part of mindfulness. When you are able to clear your mind so that all of those negative thoughts, unhappy memories and doubts are released you will be able to meet your goals and lead a happier, stress free and successful life.

Portland Motivational Speaker – Doug Dvorak in Portland OR

Doug Dvorak has presented several motivational speeches in Portland Oregon over the past few years. He gave a very well-received talk to the Oregon Water Works Association. This was a 60-minute motivational keynote on leadership. It was a mildly interactive presentation with bits of video.
